After a short ride down the busy coastal highway (on the eastern coast), you hook up with the bikepath that loops around through farming country and then back closer to the coast. Apart from one other cyclist, I encountered only local residents out for a stroll.

When you've finished exploring Nagasaki and you need another bike ride to work off all the Nagasaki chanpon, take a day and do the loop around the coast south of Nagasaki along the bikepath that leads to Nomozaki, the cape at the southwestern tip.
