If you’re interested in doing a little sightseeing, Honrenji, virtually right across the street from the ocean, was originally established in the year 1347. This is where Korean envoys stayed when they visited in the Edo period. The main temple building was rebuilt in the Muromachi period (1336 - 1573).

The port is nice at sunset. If time permits, you take a ferry from here to tiny Maejima to cycle around that island — a nice way to spend half a day.
