Eventually the bikepath breaks away from the coast just far enough to go through a tiny pine forest before petering out.

This is Namerikawa, a small coastal town east of Toyama. It’s one of those towns that looks like it hasn’t changed much in decades, with some very nicely preserved old buildings and nice photo ops like this one.
