Although in my mind I refer to this as the "bikeboat," it doesn't really have much to do with cycling even though the presence of so many cyclists in this photo might give you that impression. The Japanese graffiti says "Yatchan-go" - the "go" refers to a ship, and I assume "Yatchan" is somebody's nickname.

A panorama photo showing some of the countryside the bikepath goes though - and showing, once again, that this could be anywhere in rural Japan and not a route connecting two of Kansai's major cities (and two of Japan's major tourist attractions)...
