Looking back from the spot in the previous photo, you can see that you're not that far from civilization: this is the JR railway route leading to Nara. There's even a station nearby if you're too tired to do the remaining single-digit km to Nara.

You even pass by a small bamboo forest along the way. One note of (mild) warning: this bikeath is not quite as level as the last one, so you'll have to puff uphill a bit. Don't worry, it's not bad at all. You can tell you're near the end when you leave the bamboo forests and greenery and emerge back to civilization to see (drum roll) a golf driving range - it'll be the big chain-link fence on your right. Whatever you think of golf, coming out of a bamboo forest to see a a golf practice range is a much more realistic symbol for Japan's "blend of traditional / modern culture"...
