A rare sight in Japan: a magnificent tree has actually been left leaning out into the street rather than being moved or simply cut down. Yellow and black caution bands provide drivers with some warning at night. Still, as I passed I wondered how many drivers had had more than a passing acquaintance...

Surprisingly quickly, you get to places that look like some remote country area - not a nearby suburb of a major urban area. This photo could have been taken on a rural trip anywhere from Kyushu to Hokkaido.
