I've pointed out some typical photos showing the route, but this photo is a good one to advertise it - believe it or not, this spectacular access bridge is FOR BICYCLES ONLY. Astonishing - and a sign of how committed the route designers were to making this the premier cycling route in Japan. I think they succeeded.

Mission accomplished. This is the view of the final bridge as seen from the Shikoku mainland (the photo was taken from the park just below the bridge on the Shikoku side). If you've chosen to end your journey at nearby Imabari, remember that you've still got to cycle a few kilometers (about 15@@@) until journey's end.
