Hedo-misaki is not only pretty, it also offers a breath of fresh air (or "wind") in the sense that the rocks and vegetation are completely unlike anything you've seen before on Okinawa - it's as if you've suddenly passed through a freak wormhole and ended up in Hokkaido.

Here is another view. Astonishingly, there is no campground here, and only a small "rest house" serving simple dishes and vending machine drinks. Still, it's a perfect to rest up for the much more challenging section to come. From here, it's nearly 100 miles on hilly roads down the coast and back to Nago.
