Riding in such a large group has its perils. Here is a minor spill, one of any number that occurred each day. Another more serious crackup almost got me a few minutes after this one: two riders got too close and went down; someone behind them also got caught, and his bicycle skidded halfway across the road and very nearly took me down as well. There are also accidents, but fortunately there were no serious injuries on either of the Tours I went on.

The Tour stays along the coast for most of the way around the western half of Noto, then goes inland to save time by avoiding the crinkly coastline just outside Anamizu. As I recall, this photo is slightly more than midway along the northern coast.
