Now that you've seen what the Tour de Noto is like, let's take a closer look at Noto itself. I've been back to do the peninsula solo several times (once in a typhoon!), and the initial problem is getting out of Kanazawa: it's at least half an hour just to make your way from central Kanazawa to the coast. Once you do, you can hook onto this bikepath that follows the coast (between the beach and the expressway) all the way up to the small city of Hakui.

In summer, this long beach (named Chirihama) is packed with bathers and beach-campers. At other times of the year, there's only the occasional boat to break up the gleaming white sand.
